India is the third-largest fish producer in the world, and inland fish farming and aquaculture account for more than 65% of its fish production. Over 28 million people in India depend on the industry for work, particularly the disadvantaged and vulnerable areas.

But it is quite frustrating for the people in the aqua industry to go from one place to another in search of good quality fish farming products and services. People try multiple options only to be disappointed in the end. Even after trying so hard, they still can’t find what they’re looking for!

This is what gave birth to the startup – Manjha Technologies. They are India’s first close-knit network of all the stakeholders of the aquaculture sector. Here, aqua farmers can easily buy and sell seeds, feed, medicines, and aqua-equipments, among other things.

If one wants to get in touch with pure farmer-quality products, Manjha Technologies is where people can get connected with aqua farmers. It is a win-win situation for both the buyer and the consumer. This makes Manjha Technologies the one-stop solution for all fish farming needs!

Birth Of Manjha Technologies

The industry of fish farming has constantly been growing and evolving over the years in Northern India like in the states of Rajasthan, Gujrat, Haryana, Punjab etc. It has become one of the main sources of livelihood for a majority of the rural population in the country. But there are many loopholes for the farmers practising fish farming and this is where the need to start Manjha technologies was felt.

Manjha Technology was founded by five enthusiasts who originally belonged to a variety of professions, like finance, engineering, etc but ended up finding common ground over their interest in farming.

Shobhit Agarwal, a chartered accountant by profession, originally began a fish farm with the assistance and counsel of his friend Sudhir. Shobhit and his friend as aqua farmers confronted a variety of issues, including a lack of adequate supplies and excessive reliance on brokers and agents for basic supplies like seeds and fish food.

It made them realise that the majority of the profit from fish farming goes to these middlemen while the farmer ends up struggling for their basic supplies & gains very less profits.

Farmers toil day and night in their fields, braving the scorching sun and the biting cold, all in the hope of a good harvest. But more often than not, their efforts go in vain when they get marginal profits.

Started in 2020, Manjha Technologies was created as a result of their experience in fish farming. Ajmer Singh Malik, Divyam Goyal, Karam Singh, Sudhir, and Shobhit created a platform to address the issue of disintegration in this sector.

The company has an extensive network of suppliers, lenders, and customers. The facility makes it easy for buyers and sellers to connect with each other and get the best deals.

Stones Unturned

The journey of every new initiative is fraught with difficulties, and the Majha team encountered several of these. The first and major concern was educating people on how to use the website for their needs. Their target audience was mostly farmers who are sceptical about online purchases.

Rural India still lacks fundamental skills like internet understanding, app knowledge, technical reliability, etc. Many youngsters around the country are working towards the upliftment of rural India like the startup of 4 Delhi-Based Students Making Rural India Future Ready & Bidding Financial Crises Adieu.

Manjha Technologies first concentrated on developing trust with the farmers and establishing a clientele. They made their services available for free for the initial first year. Over a period of time, more than a thousand people have joined them.

Despite the fact that there is still much to be done, we received a lot of support from the public and even numerous government agencies. Although the government is generally supportive of new businesses, progress is gradual. Many farms and new businesses will prosper if government operations are timely.

Efficiency In Fish Farming

Manjha is a startup that will connect farmers with the resources they need to make their lives easier. Manjha is also working to help sell their products. This way, they can generate more revenue and develop a market for their products.

Indeed it’s a business but Manjha is not just about making money. It is also about empowering farmers and giving them a voice. Through Manjha, farmers will be able to share their work with other stakeholders in the fish farming industry.

Their team of experts sources only the best products from across the country so that farmers don’t have to settle for anything less. It also provides training and consultation services to the farmers and other stakeholders of the sector.

While the company started off as a small venture, it has now grown into a large organization with a strong presence in the fish farming industry. The team intends to make the company a one-stop shop for all aquaculture needs and educate and inform the sector about the latest advances in technology and techniques.

The company has an online presence and has future plans to expand the venture and start offline stores of aqua farming supplies. This way the company is ready to create an easy-to-get waterway for fish farmers near them.

The demand for aqua-based food items is increasing day by day, but the supply is less. This has given birth to a new practice – fish farming, and it has shown rapid growth in recent years. A company like Manjha Technologies is the need of the hour.

It is India’s first close-knit network of all the stakeholders of the fish farming sector. Clearly, this is the future, and the company is expected to grow by leaps and bounds in the coming years. It is safe to say, Manjha Technologies is a revolutionary idea on this front.
