After leaving his job in the US, Musthafa returned to India with the dream of starting his business venture. Then in India, he sold the batter of Idli to various eateries and other selling outlets to explore his business idea. Then in 2005, he realised the potential of “Ready-to-cook” items in India and decided to establish his business in this field. He aimed to provide “Ready to cook” idli batters that are free from any chemicals and preservatives.
He founded iD Fresh Food with an investment of Rs. 25000 along with his cousins. He started a small kitchen of 50 square feet in Bengaluru’s Tipassandra and toiled hard to make it a big name in the food industry of India. His sheer determination and courage was something that kept him going without giving up.
In 2007, Musthafa became the CEO of iD Food and handled the marketing and finance department. Initially, iD used to prepare 15000 kg of Idli with 5000kg of rice and there was the sale of only 10 packets of Idli batters. Now, the sales of approximately 100 packets have reached different states such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Dubai.

Today, the sales of iD’s products have increased up to four times the 15000kg mixture. iD Fresh food turnover was 100 crores in the year, 2015-2016 and it increased to 182 crores in the year 2017-2019.
