Around five years ago, Suraj was fixing a wire cable when he got an intense electric shock. The injuries he suffered were so severe that both his legs and one arm were burnt completely. Before his accident, he was an average college-going boy who also used to work part-time jobs to become financially stable and fulfill his basic needs. In his interviews, he mentioned that after his surgeries and treatments, he was in a wheelchair and faced unmanageable difficulties in maintaining his health.

After becoming an amputee, his life felt like a burden to him but he accepted it gracefully and decided to turn his curse into a blessing. Maintaining his fitness in the long run became his priority and in time Suraj Gaywal gained an interest in bodybuilding and vowed to participate in bodybuilding competitions.

Suraj Gaywal started his journey to becoming an Indian bodybuilder with proper training and motivation. He started his fitness journey in 2021. Since then, he has become an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. After two months of training, he participated in a district-level competition and won a silver medal in the “Star Category” for individuals with disabilities.
