Who won 2 Gold in archery for India At the Asian Para Games?

Archery is a sport that demands skill, concentration, precision, and a strong vision and all of this should align perfectly with sharp brain and body reflexes. It might be difficult for the new learners to shoot an aim accurately as it takes a long time of learning and practice to a perfect archer. Sheetal Devi is a disabled female archer who claimed the top prize with two gold and one silver medal in archery for India at the Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou.
Sheetal Devi rose from nowhere to the world stage!
Hailing from Loidhar village of Jammu & Kashmir, Sheetal Devi is a 16-year-old archer who made India proud at the Asian Para Games 2023 in China. She was born with Phocomelia, a rare disorder that causes under-developed limbs and might affect the proper functioning of eyes, nose, and ears. Sheetal defied all odds and fought to stand tall on her feet.
She has all that an archer requires except both her hands. Well, Sheetal decided to defeat her disability and became the first female archer without hands to compete internationally. Her friends and family never lost faith in her and supported her. She never liked the look people gave her when they noticed her disability. From a poor girl to international fame, Sheetal takes pride in describing her journey to winning 2 golds in a compound mixed team event and a women’s doubles silver.
Armless woman became the motivation for thousands
Initially, Sheetal started by shooting 50-100 arrows daily and slowly increased her level to shooting 300 arrows in a day by holding her bow and arrow from her legs. Six months into the practice and Sheetal Devi won a silver at the Para Open Nationals in Sonipat. This raised her spirit and she gathered the courage to participate at the international level in China.
Winning 3 back-to-back medals with 2 golds and one silver, today, Sheetal stands as a true source of inspiration for those who give up in life because of some disability. She redefined the meaning of not being normal by achieving something abnormal!
