Yoga Bar was founded by Anindita and Suhasini Sampath in 2014 to promote ‘guilt-free’ snacking via healthy snacks and beverages that are free of artificial colors, flavors, and chemicals. 

When Anindita and Suhasini Sampath lived in the United States, they used to wonder at the enormous array of healthful snack options available on store shelves. So, when they chose to begin their own business a few years later, creating a healthy snack brand felt like the natural decision.

Suhasini has always wanted to build a company that has a significant influence on people. Because food is such an important part of our lives, it seemed like a natural fit. The objective we are on is to transform a country’s eating habits and be pioneers in raising awareness about clean labeling.

Their parent company, Sproutlife Foods, is a Bangalore-based maker of high-quality branded foods for the rapid expansion health foods category. The FMCG company was established in 2015.

Yoga Bar snacks do not contain artificial colors and flavors, additives, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oil, or chemicals.  

Yoga Bar’s appeal stems from its deliciousness, in addition to its health benefits. There is a common misconception that health and taste are incompatible.

Both sisters are ‘fitness enthusiasts,’ and they used to go to yoga sessions together in New York daily. At the same time, they were ‘busy foodies,’ unable to find time to prepare healthy meals and eat clean. Late nights at the office meant fried nibbles, noodles, or sugary stuff.

Fitness, according to the duo, is primarily determined by what you consume. It’s not about weight loss or anything. Clean eating is essential for everyone, and what you eat accounts for 80% of your fitness. 

They feel that Indians can never stop munching, and the only way to prevent the negative consequences is to find healthy yet delicious alternatives. 

The taste, not the shelf life, is the major issue in making all-natural treats. That is not, however, an excuse to abandon our primary purpose of providing nutrition.

The nutritionists work tirelessly to develop items that are currently unavailable on the market. Farmers’ premium raw resources go through two levels of sifting and grading. They aren’t treated with any artificial flavors or preservatives.

All of their products are unique in that they are created by nutritionists rather than marketers. The company now sells protein bars, breakfast bars, muesli, oats, antioxidant mix, ayurvedic juices, trail mix, and peanut butter, after launching with just four items.

Yoga Bar focused on expanding to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in addition to making the products available on all major online shopping platforms and popular stores.

One method was to collaborate with gyms and grocers. When the epidemic struck, they focused more on internet platforms than physical stores, which helped to keep revenues from plummeting.

In the following years, the team wants to make Yoga Bar one of the nation’s top three food businesses. They want to become a Rs 1,000 crore brand in the next three to four years.
