The key components of any sports drama movie include the coach-student relationship of Indian sports players, the corrupted sports committee, the ego clash between players, the rise-fall, victory-defeat cycle, and, of course, patriotism. So it’s difficult to make a film that follows the same formula and is also original? But filmmaker Sudha Kongara did a fantastic job on the script to keep this movie grounded and racy all the way through. The lead actress, a boxer who fulfills her coach’s dreams, is incredibly convincing for a seasoned actor. Congrats, Ritika Singh. Madhvan’s part as the couch surely binds the audience. It is one of the finest sports movies produced ever.

5. Sarpatta Parambarai

In Sarpatta Parambarai, a blue-collar fighter uses boxing to discover his identity, meaning in life, and route to atonement. The formula for a sports film typically includes unpredictable setbacks along the way to success, and this Pa. Ranjith-directed film is no exception. It overcomes the clichés with socio-political components that hide the conventional plot. But the overall experience is much more impressive than thought by many. If you really feel like exploring something new, this one is for you.

The 2012 film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia tells the story of Paan Singh Tomar, an athlete who repeatedly won gold medals at the Indian National Games but was forced to become a dacoit after his mother was murdered and the police did nothing. This film is a masterpiece with outstanding performances and outstanding screenwriting. But unfortunately, it was not well understood by the people and that saddens me.
