Not all heroes have books written in their honour or sports movies made about them. like the story of 94-Year-old Najafgarh Dadi, Bhagwani Devi, who Defies Age And Wins Gold At The World Masters Athletic Championship is worth a drama.

Indian Sports Players & Their Tales

Yet some inspiring Indian sports players find their way on the big screen. They not only inspire us with their success-struggle stories but also spread awareness about the life of a sportsman.

Sports movies work best when you need motivation and inspiration. They contain a lot of drama, the exhilaration of the winning shot, the struggle of the fight, and much more. Here are 7 underrated sports movies that deserved a lot more praise.

Inspired by Pravin Tambe’s life, Kaun Pravin Tambe? Depicts Pravin Tambe’s struggle to win the Ranji Trophy and his tenacity in doing so. He begins a new chapter of his life at the point in his career when it is generally accepted that people’s careers come to an end. Shreyas Talpade plays the title character in the movie and he does a mindblowing job. If you are mad4sports and are exploring new is your style, this movie is for you.

2. Soorma

Soorma, which tells the life story of former Indian hockey team captain Sandeep Singh, starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role and Taapsee as his motivation or love interest. The inspirational tale of this movie, which is based on real-life events, captures the audience’s attention by showing the struggle of a young athlete who suffers a devastating injury that ends his athletic career. But as it’s said fighters are not quitters, Soorma jumps back even more – stronger, the dilemma of life, the struggles of a lost fighter on the battlefield, and the lament of a lost love. This movie has a lot to offer.

3. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ is a National Award-winning film by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra The true-life tale of Milkha Singh, an Olympian and world champion athlete who is one of India’s most recognizable sports figures. Yes, the movie was not underrated wholly, but it was not even well appreciated. People understood the movie but were unable to praise its beauty, grace, and emotion at the rate it rightly deserved. Farhan Akhtar gave the best performance of his life in the movie. One of the best sports movies, I am sure most of us have already seen it, but if not. Stop reading further and go watch it first buddy!!

4. Saala Khadoos aka Irudhi Suttru

The key components of any sports drama movie include the coach-student relationship of Indian sports players, the corrupted sports committee, the ego clash between players, the rise-fall, victory-defeat cycle, and, of course, patriotism. So it’s difficult to make a film that follows the same formula and is also original? But filmmaker Sudha Kongara did a fantastic job on the script to keep this movie grounded and racy all the way through. The lead actress, a boxer who fulfills her coach’s dreams, is incredibly convincing for a seasoned actor. Congrats, Ritika Singh. Madhvan’s part as the couch surely binds the audience. It is one of the finest sports movies produced ever.

5. Sarpatta Parambarai

In Sarpatta Parambarai, a blue-collar fighter uses boxing to discover his identity, meaning in life, and route to atonement. The formula for a sports film typically includes unpredictable setbacks along the way to success, and this Pa. Ranjith-directed film is no exception. It overcomes the clichés with socio-political components that hide the conventional plot. But the overall experience is much more impressive than thought by many. If you really feel like exploring something new, this one is for you.

6. Paan Singh Tomar

The 2012 film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia tells the story of Paan Singh Tomar, an athlete who repeatedly won gold medals at the Indian National Games but was forced to become a dacoit after his mother was murdered and the police did nothing. This film is a masterpiece with outstanding performances and outstanding screenwriting. But unfortunately, it was not well understood by the people and that saddens me.
