Joy Mustafi is a well-known Data Scientist of India. Joy completed his graduation in Statistics in 2000, from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur. He did post-graduation in Computer Application in 2003 from RCC (Regional Computer Center), Kolkata. Joy then received the Junior Research Fellowship award in Computer and Communication Sciences in the year 2004 from Indian Statistical Institute.
Joy has about two decades of experience in the field of corporate, research, and academics.

Data science is the art of manipulating data by squeezing out data from data sets on a large scale and using the squeezed out information in application domains to solve a wide range of problems.
A Data Scientist mainly uses different processes, scientific methods, systems, and algorithms to extract information and foresight from structured, unstructured, and noisy data, and use this information and foresight from data across to a wide extent of the application domain.
Career of ‘Joy’
Joy Mustafi joined IBM (International Bussiness Machines), India in 2006 and worked as an Analytics Consultant in the Business Analytics and Optimization service field. He got involved with IBM – India Software Lab, Watson Business Group in the year 2013 and continued his research in (Machine Learning /Data Mining/ Natural Language Processing).
After a few years, he started working as Data Scientist in 2014 in Global Technology Services – IT Operations Analytics. Plus, as a Subject Matter Expertise, he gave his contribution to IBM SPSS Statistics, IBM Content Analytics, and IBM SPSS Modeler (Text Analytics). Joy Mustafi has been engaged as visiting faculty member/employee in different academic organizations also. He has several patents and research publications on Applied Statistics & Computational Linguistics.
Joy has also worked as Principal Researcher at Salesforce, which was responsible for Salesforce Einstein, Principal Applied Scientist at Microsoft – AI and Research, Data Science and Machine Learning along with IBM for about 10 years as a Data Scientist engaged in Watson Solutions.
This Data Scientist Collaborated with 21 leading universities in India as visiting faculty, project supervisor, academic board member, mentor, curricula moderator, and much more.
Joy Mustafi also created a system, which takes mathematical questions as to its inputs and then solves by itself – or we can say that the machine is required to learn how to think.
He had Supported around 15 start-ups and non-profit organizations being on the board & as a consultant for data science. He is a very talented and hardworking Data Scientist.
Joy Mustafi has Managed and led more than 500 practitioners in different organizations with respect to technical and professional guidance recently. Joy is known as One of the Top Data scientists and Influencers in India. He has close to twenty-five thousand followers on LinkedIn. He got the Zinnov Award in 2017 for being a Technical Role Model – Emerging Technologies.
It was about the time his son was 5 years old. His son was just beginning to solve word problems in Maths. Joy Mustafi used to teach his son, observe how he deals with problems and tried to de-cipher his view and analysis of the problem.
Joy Mustafi & his wife, Tanusree Mustafi Chose to celebrate their son’s 5th Birthday uniquely. For which they reached The Hope Foundation and spent a wonderful time with the children from – Bekind Boy’s Home. Swastik Mustafi gifted a wonderful riding car, some puzzle games, and a music system to the children of Bekind Boy’s Home. Which honestly is a very great gesture.
