Nirbhay Kwatra, a 10-year-old student at Delhi’s Modern School, decided in 2012 that he wished to do everything to help the environment. His goal was to enlist the help of individuals from all areas of life to build a large “green collective” and plant trees. He also wants to raise awareness about the benefits of using clean, renewable energy.

On the 15th of January, 2012, a ‘SMILING TREE GO GREEN WALK’ was held in Lodhi Gardens in Delhi as a significant ‘first step’ for his ambitious mission.

As per his father, Mukesh Kwatra, the event was successful since people of all ages were intrigued and shocked to see a youngster begin a campaign. Because Nirbhay has been preoccupied with his academics, Mukesh has taken over the effort.

Projects

Smiling Tree has conducted hundreds of plantation drive systems, primarily in the Delhi-NCR region.

The firm has also teamed up with the govt for plantation drive systems as part of the Namami Gange Programme this is to clean up the river Ganga, as well as Karur Vysya Bank, Rotary Club, Platinum Motocorp of Maruti Suzuki, and others to hold plantation drives and/or gift plants at numerous places mostly around Delhi.

For the past five years, Smiling Tree has held Plantation Drives at Community Development & Leadership Summits hosted by the country’s top colleges. This ecological initiative brings together 150 students from over 25 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, the Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, and South Africa. Their main aim is to make our planet green.

They shall constantly endeavor to assist the environment as a whole. Climate change, deforestation, unsustainable use of natural resources, the usage of plastics, gas emissions, the burning of fossil fuels, and other issues are all major concerns. They want to make our planet green, and we’ll do everything we can to achieve that.

Smiling Tree has created several unique landscaping and vertical gardens. The ‘Hall of Fame,’ for example, is a monument to Indian cricket and a token of respect for Team India and Roshanara Club’s classic cricket past.

Mukesh, an environmentalist, has also created a rooftop garden at his home, which he describes as a “humble homage to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, the God of Cricket.” It contains a vertical garden with a hundred discarded plastic bottles repurposed into pots, in addition to a variety of special plants neatly planted there.

‘Each bottle is a memento for a century scored by him and his stellar career, which included 100 international hundreds. Each bottle has a laminated sticker with the number of runs he scored, the country he was playing against, the date, and the location where he hit the century.

Smiling Tree, as per Mukesh, has efforts to establish over three lakh plants and trees in and around Delhi-NCR over the previous 10 years.

However, persuading people to plant trees and refrain from using plastic has been difficult. Mukesh is the lone supporter of Smiling Tree. The crew, which consists of seven members of his family and friends, is now looking for contributions to help them expand their operations.

Smiling Tree’s mission, according to Mukesh, is to plant trees and raise awareness about sustainable living. It also aspires to teach youngsters about environmental concerns and to assist farmers in gaining access to and learning about environmentally-friendly farming techniques.
