After that, he got a full-time job. Opportunity to coordinate a permaculture project at The Art of Living Ashram. The place was empty, full of stones. Even the weeds did not grow there. Within three months his team created a green paradise. “We have just implemented the principles of permaculture. We received so much attention from the international and national media that it became a tourist attraction.” narrated Binay in an interview. He has seen big things can happen through our permaculture project. So many people have found inspiration in the study of this project.

The Vision of the Permaculture expert

“I don’t think big environmental projects require the government to invest a lot of rupees. Instead, they need people who do something on a personal level. Such a project is contagious.” said Binay in an interview. Binay who couldn’t speak English in his early days now goes on to speak about flora, gets invited to numerous international conferences, meeting intellectuals working on the grounds of sustainable agriculture methods.

The Permaculture expert effect

At one point, a businessman told him that he would see to it that whatever he taught was practical and profitable. He owned 90 acres of land. Extensive chemical farming has been used. He took it all away. He sold the cows. The use of plastic bottles has been discontinued. Now, he has a great set that runs on a continuous basis. In another incident, an Apple engineer decided to quit his job and set up the same thing in his hometown after spending some time in the ashram permaculture area. One of his happiest moments was when it all started in the area where he was born. ” My father, who once relied heavily on chemical farming, sold all our cattle jerseys and bought one cow. He started by telling everyone in the village to use cow dung and not chemicals. The villagers have now asked me to arrange cows for them. It has changed in our area – a place where even the internet has not yet reached!”

About the Viral Video – Man on the Bus

“One day, I happened to be talking to one of the Ashram groups and someone recorded it and posted it on Facebook.” Said Kumar. The Video received a million views. On asking about the response he said “I was not expecting something like that. I did not post the video in the first place. Now, it doesn’t matter what region, place, what metro I go to, who I meet just knows about it”. There’ve been multiple incidents that people have reminded him about the video. He feels happy and delighted to have contributed to the lives of people for good.
