Gita Gopinath, the Chief Economists of the International Monetary Fund since 2019. She has the role of the Directors IMF’s Research Department and the Economic Counselor of the IMF.
In the turn of recent events, Gita Gopinath will take the role of IMFs first Deputy Managing Director.
Gopinath was born on 8 December 1971 in a Malayali family in Kolkata, India.
She graduated from the University of Delhi in 1992. She later got her M.A. degree from the Delhi School of Economics. She further completed her M.A. studies at the University of Washington. She earned her Ph.D. Degree from the University of Princeton.
She will take the fund’s new responsibility as the Managing Director from January 2022.

Indra Nooyi
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is the former chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo. She has consistently ranked as an influential person among the world’s 100 most powerful women. Nooyi was ranked second most powerful woman on Forbes list of the 19 most powerful women in business. She has the surreal qualities of a leader and the voice of women empowerment.
She also serves on the Boards of Amazon and the International Council of Cricket (ICC.)
Nooyi, born on 28 October 1955, in Madras state, now Tamil Nadu, is a Padma Bhushan awardee. While growing up, she did her Bachelors’ Degree from the University of Madras in 1974. She did a Post Graduate Diploma Program from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 1976. She was also admitted to Yale School of Management for her Masters’ Degree in 1978.
Nooyi joined PepsiCo in 1994 and was named the CEO in 2006. Before becoming the CEO, she was the Chief Financial Officer and President at PepsiCo.

Falguni Nayar
Falguni Nayar is the founder and CEO of Nykaa. She founded Nykaa in 2012, and thus, the lifestyle, retain company platform has surged its value with time. She is one of the two self-made women billionaires in India.
In a recent listing, Falguni is now the richest female Indian billionaire with an estimated value of $6.5 Billion.
She hails from a Gujarati family and was born and brought up in Maharashtra, Mumbai. She did her graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce. Later, she completed her post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
She is in the top 20 wealthiest people in India and is on a journey that encourages women empowerment.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra
Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the chairperson of HCL Technologies. She is also the first Indian businesswoman to lead a listed IT company in India.
Nadar is the only daughter of the founder and billionaire of HCL Technologies.
She was ranked 54th in the Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list in 2019. In 2020, she was ranked 55th in the Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list.
Her schooling was from Vasant Valley School in Delhi and, she graduated from Northwestern University.
She is one of the most influential people and is the wealthiest Indian businesswoman. Roshni Nadar is a voice for all girls to dream big, live big.
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw
Apart from being an Indian billion entrepreneur, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the founder and executive chairperson of Biocon Limited and Biocon Biologics Limited. She is also the former chairperson of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
Shaw is among the top 50 women in the business list of Financial Times. In 2019, she was listed as the 68th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes. She has many nominations and awards in her name for contributing the most progress in Chemistry and Science.
She was born to Gujarati parents in Bangalore, India, on 23 March 1983 and is a Padma Bhushan awardee. She is the epitome of inspiration for many youngsters and is a new face for women’s empowerment.
