Know about Pink City Rickshaw Company

The Pink City Rickshaw Company is a unique initiative by ACCESS Development Services (a non-profit organization).

It aims to provide employment opportunities to 200 women from deprived families in Jaipur. These women are equity holders in the Pink City Rickshaw Company and proudly manage the company themselves.

All these women are smart, enthusiastic, and well-trained. Using their eco-friendly rickshaws, they give you a tour of the important tourist attractions of Jaipur.

Pink City Rickshaw Company provides better economic opportunities to women and also promotes an eco-friendly way of travel to protect our environment. Whenever you visit Jaipur, you must have a look at this invention on wheels.

This project focuses mainly on the training of women, who are selected from the fragile sections of the society. They have trained these women in driving and soft skills, which has opened new avenues of income for these women. This has helped boost their confidence, and they can easily converse with all kinds of tourists visiting Jaipur.

What is ACCESS Development Services

Headquartered in New Delhi, ACCESS Development Services is an organization that works at the national level. Their aim is to provide better livelihood to the poor working in agricultural and non-agricultural sectors. Right now they are working on different livelihood schemes in over 9 states of India.

Specially designed modern Pink Rickshaws

These e-rickshaws have been modified by Ayush Kasliwal, a graduate from NID Jaipur.

The modified pink e-rickshaw has a new version of the seat, foldable rooftop, security improvements, mobile charger socket, water bottle storage, city map, and a locker for greater security of passenger belongings.

An IVRS App with pre-identified routes has also been installed in the e-rickshaws, which enhances the safety of both passengers and woman drivers.

Pink City Rickshaw Route

The Pink City Rickshaw Company offers you a variety of tours including heritage, craft, shopping, and food tours.

Along with these, it gives you a tour of special attractions. If you avail of their services, Pink City rickshaw will pick you up from your hotel or the pre-planned location. The first stop will be the ‘Albert Hall Museum’, which is beautifully designed in Indo-Sarsenic architecture and is in the center of the Ram Niwas Garden.

From there, you will reach the Magical Square via New Gate and your next stop will be ‘City Palace Complex’.

This Palace is a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. The current royal family also stays in this palace in a secured and private part of the palace. You can also visit the museum and check the collection of Rajput warriors’ weapons and dresses here.

After this, your rickshaw driver will take you to the Jantar Mantar, which is considered to be the largest of the five astronomical observatories built by the founder of Jaipur, King Sawai Jaisingh II.

After this Pink Rickshaw will take you to the grand ‘Jal Mahal’ or ‘Lake Palace’ which can be seen floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.

Your last stop will be the famous ‘Hawa Mahal’. Here, you can click your beautiful photos.

In the end, the rickshaw wanders through the Johri Barrage and will take you around the Statue Circle where a marble statue pays homage to the founder of Jaipur. After this, Pink City Rickshaw will leave you with memorable moments of Jaipur at your drop point.
