Leaving the United States And Moving To Himachal Pradesh

Can a wrong email land you in a dream job? Sound like a dream, isn’t it? This dream became a reality for Robin when he accidentally sent an email to the owner of Brink, a company that was working on website development and marketing in the US. Robin quickly got a revert from Brink’s owner that he want to work with Robin and later called him to the US to give him a desk job. It seemed like everything was happening for Robin he made effective use of the time and luck. But soon things were gonna take a turn.

Robin used to work an 8-hour shift and after that, he would find time to visit libraries as he was fond of reading. While working in the same routine he would sometimes find himself nowhere in the world and would think of being stuck in the rat race. Although he was still clocking 8-hour and working towards setting up his own business which he and Shivani eventually did and now they were successfully running an IT business in the US.

But again destiny had something else, he was very inspired by the teachings of Buddha and believed in ‘Do No Harm’. This single thought made him realize the amount of destruction people’s needs and luxury cause to the environment. We exploit the environment as much as we can but never think of giving back to the nature. But Robin finally found the zeal in working for the environment, for the wildlife, for the land and vegetation.

Building The Peepal Farm

To come out of the concrete jungle, Robin came back to India and started working towards his aim. He and Shivani started working on a plan to build a house in the Himalayas. They began exploring and finally found a land in Dhanotu village, near Dharamshala. They started building a farmhouse that’d be called The Peepal Farm. A Place where they would take care of the stray animals, feed them and even treat them in case of health issues.

Peepal Farm has a clinic for animals, halls for different animals and also a hall for the volunteers to work. Robin and Shivani faced a lot of struggles while building the Peepal Farm, they had to sleep in a tent, they had to bring water from far-off locations, and there was no security for them at that time. But they finally built the Peepal Farm.

Cruelty-free Products By The Peepal Farm

Shivani Singh found her calling in the service of people and animals. She and Robin made their dream a reality by building The Peepal Farm but now they needed funds to run the organization. Although Peepal farm gets some of its funding from donations but Shivani Singh came up with the idea of making handmade cruelty-free and organic products, where she employed local women and sold those products in markets and online.
