Anoushka Poddar, a Dhirubhai Ambani International School student in Mumbai, has established a personal care range for teenagers that includes shampoos and conditioners.

Anoushka Poddar knew the issues that tweens and teens experienced when it comes to personal care as a teenager.

She was well aware that teenagers and young adults struggle with acne, eczema, and outbreaks, and that they required specific nutrients for their hair and skin types. Last summer, while using her mother’s ‘very well-known brands, she developed skin allergies.

She discovered that, although there are many brands for adults and children, there are few popular personal care products for teenagers in India, based on her research.

Anoushka realized she wasn’t the only one going through this “period” after doing some research and interacting with her friends.

As a result, Snazz, a teen-focused personal care product brand, was born.

What is Snazz?

Snazz is specialized in the skin and hair needs of teenagers and tweens, and it addresses typical issues like acne and hair regrowth. They hope to help bewildered youth finally find their personal care answer with the perfect level of nutrients, unique aromas, environmentally sustainable packaging, and strong themes. “Be What You Want” is the tagline of the brand.

She enrolled at the Thapar Entrepreneurs Academy, which taught her the fundamentals of business, like marketing, financial management, supply chain issues, and so on. Also, assisted her in developing and realizing her business concept through ongoing discussions and advice from her tutors, classmates, and industry professionals.

Anoushka’s father, Abhishek Poddar, provided the initial funding after envisioning the idea and developing a business plan.

Snazz’s final recipe was created after numerous experiments and prototypes. These formulations were created by lab scientists in laboratories following weeks of research and testing to ensure that Snazz’s shampoos and conditioners had the correct formula.

They were first put to the test in the labs, and the first batch of prototypes was then distributed to potential consumers and improved based on their input. These labs are part of a new Thane-based firm that specializes in innovative formulations and tests them. They are currently working on third-party certifications.

Snazz was created in collaboration with a Mumbai-based manufacturer, who advised Anoushka on the best compositions for the product. The manufacturing facility is located in Dhule, Maharashtra.

Personal Care Products For The Teens

“Apple Addiction” shampoos and “Argon Amber” conditioners are among the brand’s first offerings. They are tailored to the target segment’s skin types and contain natural chemicals and nutrients. Sulfates, phthalates, parabens, and phosphates are not used in the product, which complies with PETA rules and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Snazz is aimed at urban luxury customers looking for acceptable personal care items and is priced at Rs 600 for each bottle (250ml). Within a month of its inception, Snazz reportedly made Rs 1.2 lakh in sales, according to the entrepreneur.

She was eventually able to get a crew on board with the idea and launch the product after hours of persuading and backing from her parents. All of this was accomplished while juggling school schedules and extracurricular commitments.

She plans to expand production, professionalize sales and marketing, and add up to two full-time staff in the future.

Anoushka’s three-year goal is to establish Snazz as a well-known teen brand with pleased customers and new product lines accessible throughout India.
