Ravindra Singh Bhati personal life
Ravindra Singh Bhati personal life was simple, just like the rest of us but his attitude was too different. He was born in the desert land of Barmer, Rajasthan, in a Rajput Hindu family on 3rd Dec 1997. His father, Mr. Shaitan Singh Bhati, is a school teacher and his mother, Mrs. Ashok Kanwar is a homemaker. This law graduate from Jodhpur’s Jai Narayan University hails from a village in the Sheo constituency near the India-Pakistan border.
He made impactful waves in the recent state assembly polls, leaving the political air in Rajasthan stirred as he secured an impressive victory in Barmer’s Sheo constituency. With a total of 80,000 votes, he secured a strong army of supporters behind him by leaving the candidates from the BJP and Congress behind. Barmer has always had a trend of rotating governments every five years since 1993 but this year, Ravindar left everybody behind in the decisive battle.
Ravindra Singh Bhati political life – rise to politics
Ravindra Singh Bhati began his political journey in 2019 through student politics. He made history at Jodhpur’s largest university, JNVU, by becoming the first independent president.
For the first time in the 57 years of Jai Narayan University, an independent candidate had become the student union president. It was a big thing for him to become the president of such a big university without any political support.
His leadership achievements fueled his confidence and gained him popularity as he spearheaded protests against universities and colleges over fees issues in the depressing times of the global pandemic Covid-19.
He even protested to protect his university land from being sold to a convention center. All his good work was supported by hundreds of students all across the university, which boosted his confidence for continuing politics. So, Ravindra Singh Bhati political life started in college only and today, this 26-year-old made history!
Sheo Vidhan Sabha elections
The Sheo Vidhan Sabha elections in Barmer, with approximately 3 lakh voters, including over 1 lakh Muslim voters, attracted a lot of attention in the Rajasthan assembly polls in 2023. Ravindra Singh Bhati defeated six-time Congress MLA Ameen Khan, who had been fighting from the same seat since 1980, highlighting the great shift in the political dynamics.
Why Ravindra fight independently in the Sheo Vidhan Sabha elections?
Ravindra’s political fame was recognized by the locals so he joined the BJP under Rajasthan’s top leaders. Despite his potential, he was denied a ticket for the Sheo constituency. He tried to persuade the people in the top positions but had no luck. So, he left the BJP and contested independently. Proving his potential, he secured a great victory with 80,000 votes, leaving all the parties behind.
Fondly known as Ravsa among his peers, Mr. Bhati solidified his position as one of the most popular leaders in Rajasthan. Regarding his future aspirations in politics, he mentioned, “I can’t say now but the situation will decide. I have my nationalist ideology and I will continue to uphold it as long as I choose to stay in politics.”
It is a big achievement for a 26-year-old independent individual to have the courage to stand against the top leading parties in politics. Mad4India congratulates Ravindra Singh Bhati for his one-sided win and wishes to see more such leaders like him.
