In India, population is not the only big worry; India’s increasing number of 4-wheelers and cars in particular is also a big issue. And I am not talking about the pollution but the sheer number of four-wheelers, which has become the biggest cause of parking problems almost everywhere.
India has the third-largest road network in the world, according to Statista, with 326.3 million vehicles on the road worldwide in fiscal year 2022. With this huge number, particularly in cities, parking issues have gotten out of hand.
We have all been there, furious as we observe a car carelessly parked somewhere it should not be, wreaking havoc on the flow of traffic. But the news that I am going to reveal next will surely bring a smile to your face.
A mechanical engineer from Palwal Faridabad has thought of an amazing idea, and he is very determined to put an end to this parking problem by using technology. According to him, his app is a groundbreaking solution to the parking problem that promises to put an end to our parking woes.
Genesis of the idea to build an app for solving parking problem
Mr. Than Singh is the brain behind the idea of Vhelp24. He was educated at Amity University with a degree in technology and automation. He is a mechanical engineer and is a resident of Palwal (Faridabad). As they say, “Your best teacher is experience.” Something similar happened in his case.
My family and I live in a corner location home in Palwal (Faridabad), in the state of Haryana, and we used to always struggle with one kind of parking problem, especially on Sundays. It’s because sometimes our automobiles or the cars of others would block the way, or occasionally someone would park in front of our house and the real problem use to finding the driver of that falsly parked car.
Than Singh
This parking problem has become a Sunday occurrence for him. Because of this, he thought of an idea to create an app to aid those in similar circumstances.
However, it was just a basic idea with uncertainties about how it will shape up, what features it should have, and how people will understand the importance of such an app. There are so many questions. Mr. Singh’s, on the other hand, was clear in his mind and determined: “People should have an effective way to deal with parking problems when they arise.“
How is the concept of a parking QR App evolving?
It is alright to have an idea, but no idea becomes a reality just by thinking. Here, Mr. Than Singh is taking help from two of his acquaintances, Mr. Anil and Mr. Narsh. With input from both of them, he is working on an app that will be based on a QR code with multiple features.
Since people are still learning to upgrade their mind with the fast paced technology evolution yet there are individuals who finds it difficult to use it especially the older generation. So, I wanted to make technology easier by adding the calling feature in my app. Because calling is an easy option for every individual.
Than Singh
The car owners can join the app, and the QR code will be displayed on the vehicle itself. In case the car owner parks the car at an inappropriate location, anyone can scan the code and get connected to customer service through a call. The executive will hear the details, like if it is a parking problem or something serious like an accident, and the executive will connect with the car owner.
I have made sure that this app makes things easier for every age people. In the app, we have an emergency call operator setup that will listen the people’s parking problem and will give the solutions and then according to the chosen solution the call will be transferred to the executive.
Than Singh
After discussing the issue with the car owner, the executive will get back to the complainant and tell them about the communication they had with the car owner. If it is an accident case, the customer service representative will speak to a car owner relative, pass on the information, or even arrange an ambulance.
So, just think about the scenario where millions of cars register themselves on this app; it will not only help people all over the country with parking problems but also save lives. But why would they share their number with this QR scanner?
And that was the question that stuck with the founders too and stood as the biggest worry! But Mr. Singh and his team have devised a solution for this as well. Let’s learn!
A Complete app that will solve multiple issues of car owners and even offer perks
I understand the people’s hesitancy with using the QR Code system, that’s why I have added calling system which can solve the parking problem in 4-6 mins. Even to make people more comfortable, the camplainant’s information will not be revealed.
Than Singh
One of the biggest issues with the success of the QR scanner-based app is convincing people about it. However, the solution is already in place. The app will not only be limited to parking but will also provide several other benefits. Some of them will be: discounted vehicle insurance for vehicles and accidents; car cleaning in the society for the registered members at discounted pricing; and cheaper service for their vehicles.
Moreover, the feature for the sale and purchase of an old car may also become part of it with time. By offering these perks and making associations with the insurance sector and other private sector entities, Mr. Singh plans for a car-related app that will work as a one-stop shop for all your car-related needs.
1. Building the application with a step-by-step approach:
Since the whole idea is taking shape, Mr. Singh is taking a step-by-step approach and currently only focusing on the Faridabad and Gurgaon regions. And he has close to 1,000 registrations already in just a month of its inception. For the current user base and to ensure the effectiveness of his solution, Mr. Singh has established a dedicated three-member customer service team. This team is committed to swiftly addressing parking complaints, with most issues resolved within 3 to 5 minutes.
2. An honest effort that he is building from his own savings and family support
Most of you will know that every startup needs the backing of an investment, and even a brilliant idea can be born or die because of a financial issue. Here, Mr. Singh has put in his own savings and has taken help from his sister (1.5 lakh). Almost INR 10 lakh has been invested into this dream, so, for the time being, the money has not become a hindrance in this cause.
Looking forward to this solution going live.
In a nation where parking problems are a daily struggle, Mr. Singh’s innovative solution offers a ray of hope. It’s not merely a parking fix; it’s a game-changer. As this visionary project takes shape, hopefully it will emerge as a successful idea that will not only sort out the inappropriate parking woes but also save lives and, at the same time, work as a single window for complete car solutions offering premium services at cheaper pricing.
Mr. Singh’s dream of building a QR-based app to solve parking problems sounds wonderful. And if you are someone who has faced the parking problem, you will want it to be successful. So, let’s hope it does!
