Some people are passionate about making the world a better place to live in for others. Such individuals are internally motivated and give their all to help others. One such motivational story is of Sonika Gahlot. She is the founder of the Indian startup Happieesouls. It is a platform that connects donors and various Non-profit Organizations.

Early Life and Education

Sonika Gahlot was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Chandigarh. She completed her MBA from Pune and then took up a corporate job. Because of her work, she often traveled to diverse places. Sonika always wanted to do something for underprivileged children. She shared this desire to help others with her mother on various occasions.

Passion for Helping Others

After getting married, Sonika moved to Bangalore. She started looking for NGOs to donate clothes but could not find many. She visited some of them and realized that they had no physical presence. The condition saddened her. The idea of opening up an Indian startup that would bring the donors and the NGOs closer came to her mind. That led her to start Happieesouls.

Research Before Starting Happieesouls

Before starting Happieesouls, Sonika did her own research. She visited over 100 NGOs in Bengaluru to understand the challenges faced by them. She found that the NGOs at the grass-root level struggled to get funds, raise funds and maintain their daily expenses. She decided to fill in the loophole by bringing the NGOs and donors in contact.

Now with a rise in consumerism, our houses are filled with a lot of unwanted items. The website of Happieesouls has the name of all the NGOs associated with it. It also has a list of all the items required by each NGO. The donors can choose whichever NGO they want to donate to and send the listed items required by that respective NGO.
