When it comes to preserving the heritage of a nation, India stands top of the list. With UNESCO heritage sites, monuments, secret library, and whatnot? India has never failed to amaze people with its inherited long-lived culture.
Once again, today, India stands proud to announce the conscious memory of culture and history, with a towering height of 369 feet, the Lord Shiva Statue of Belief surpasses the Statue of Liberty in New York as the fourth tallest statue in the world. Even from 12 miles away, the statue offers a sight. Ganesh Tekri, a picturesque hill village on the banks of the Banas River flowing down the Aravalli Hills, is home to India’s Statue of Belief.
Where is Vishwas Swaroop Located?
In the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan’s Nathdwara town, the Statue of Belief is installed. It is located in the town of Ganesh Tekri on a hilltop. The magnificent statue is about 45 miles from Udaipur and can be seen from a distance of 20 km.
The captivating tallest statue of shiva will bring in a lot of visitors to the region giving religious tourism a new shape. Visitors will be able to engage in activities like bungee jumping, go-karting, and zip lining as well as enjoy a food court, an adventure park, and a jungle cafe in the vicinity of the statue.
Intricate Details of Shiva Statue
The statue of Shiva beautifully shows him sitting with his knees crossed and a trishula in his left hand. The pedestal is 110 feet (34 m) tall and the statue is 369 feet (112 m) tall. The statue is clearly seen from as far away as 20 kilometres (12 miles). The structure is designed to last 250 years at least.
An exhibition area and public viewing galleries are located inside the monument and are reachable by elevator at heights of 20 feet (6.1 meters), 110 feet (34 meters), and 270 feet (82 m).
A 25 feet (7.6 m) tall by 37 feet (11 m) long statue of Nandi, Shiva’s bull, is part of the project. Additionally, there are 3 herbal gardens, a food court, a laser fountain, and a space for handcraft businesses on the 16-acre grounds.
Construction Framework
Indian entrepreneur Madan Paliwal came up with the idea for the statue, and Shapoorji Pallonji created it. The building is made up of a structural steel framework that is encircled by an exterior made of moulded ultra-high performance concrete, which itself is enclosed by an inner core of reinforced cement concrete walls. Liquid zinc was sprayed onto the surface, and then copper was applied.
In August 2012, around 10 years back, Ashok Gehlot, who was the then Chief Minister, and Morari Bapu lay the project’s cornerstone. The statue’s height eventually reached 351 feet during construction, despite the fact that its original 2012 design was for a 251-foot height.
Shiva’s statue’s matted hair was given a Ganga stream, resulting in a further height rise to 369 feet. The statue has amenities like corridors, staircases, and elevators.
Inauguration Ceremony
On 29th October in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand region, the 369-foot-tall “Vishwas Swarpoopam” (Statue of Belief), the biggest Shiva statue in the world, was unveiled.
