The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) announced the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 for 11 scientists across the country for their immense contributions.
The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 is for the recognition of outstanding Indian work in Science & Technology.

Dr. Amit Singh

Amit Singh is an Indian microbiologist and is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the De[artment of Microbiology and Cell Biology at the Indian Institute of Science. He is well known for his studies in the pathogenesis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The Indian Government awarded him with National Bioscience Award fo Career Development in 2017-18.
Amit Singh received the prestigious CSIR award of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Biological Science.

Dr. Arun K Shukla

Arun Kumar Shukla is a structural biologist. He is an Associate Professor & Joy- Gill Chair professor at the Indian Institute of Kanpur. He has made outstanding contributions to G-protein-coupled receptors and received the National Bioscience Award for Career Development in 2017-18 for his work in biosciences.

He was honored with the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Biological Science.

Prof Kanishka Biswas

Kanishka Biswas received the highest Science Award in the field of Chemical Sciences. He is the Associate Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore.
Biswas’s research is on renewable energy and a clean environment.

He has received several honors and awards for his contribution to thermoelectric materials. He is one of the top Indian Scientists who received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Chemical Science.

Prof T Govindaraju

T Govindaraju is among the top Indian Scientists and a Professor in the Bioorganic Chemistry Laboratory at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore. His work mainly focuses on the development of small in diagnostics and therapeutics.

Govindaraju has received many prestigious awards including, the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Chemical Science.

Binay Kumar Saikia is a Senior Scientist at the North East Institute of Science and Technology, Assam. He also serves as the Group Leader at the Coal and Energy Research Group in the Materials Science and Technology Division of NEIST.

He is among the top Indian Scientists to receive the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences.

Dr. Debdeep Mukhopadhyay

Debdeep Mukhopadhyay is an Associate Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His research focuses on micro-architectural security and crypto-engineering.

He is a Professor of Theoretical Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. He is well-known for his work on Parameterized Complexity. Similar to these heroes, there are many Famous Indian Scientists who made noteworthy contributions in the world.

Kanak Saha is an astrophysicist among the top Indian Scientists. He is an Associate Professor at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA.) He has made a breakthrough discovery of a faint galaxy at the redshift, observed by India’s first space observatory, AstroSat.

He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Physical Science.

He is a faculty member at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Chennai. He has made significant contributions to public health in general and the prevention of diabetes in India.

He is awarded India’s highest Science Award – Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Medical Science. He has fared well in his research and is among the top Indian Scientists of the country.

Dr. Rohit Srivastava

Rohit Srivastava is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering in IIT Bombay. He specializes in medical diagnostic devices, nonengineered materials, and photothermal cancer therapy.

He is among the 11 Indian Scientists who received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 in Medical Science for his affordable medical devices.

The award was received by Indian Scientists, especially scholars, researchers, who have made vivid contributions to society. Apart from these notable Indian Scientist names, we cannot forget other prominent scientists who have immensely contributed to Science & Technology.
