Rajah Vijay Kumar from Bengaluru is among the many unknown Indian scientists who developed Aquatron Boomtube Resonator. It is a multi-stage system that recycles sewage water into clean drinking water through the by-product.

The product called Aquatron Boomtube Resonator by Kumar is an innovative mechanical system that is computer-controlled and uses the resonance of short waves to get rid of impurities. The technology doesn’t implement chemicals in its process and depends only on electricity.

Among the many renowned scientists, Rajah Vijay Kumar dedicated eight years of his life to come up with an alternative idea for recovering wastewater – The revolutionary Boom Tube Resonator.

It is to say that the Aquatron Boomtube Resonator facilitates two units and thus, can treat 1.2 lakh liters of water.

Another name among unsung Indian scientists who contributed to society is Dr. R V Krishnaiah, the man behind the technology that will collect toilet waste from running trains. The automated system collects human waste. It then segregates it into several materials and processes it into usable things.

Krishnaiah, among the many inventors and scientists, has developed an economical alternative to bio-toilets for railways. Existing bio-toilets use anaerobic bacteria for converting human waste to gas, whereas other essentials can’t be decomposed into gas.

Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, the mechanism is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) from the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies Programme. It has aligned with the “Make in India” initiative and is granted five national patents.

The automated system consists of three simple steps: the septic tank (which is located under the track, i.e., the train line), the top cover is opened when the train approaches the location of the septic tank using a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sensor and reader placed at the Engine and septic tank position respectively, sewerage material in toilet tanks is dropped into the septic tank when they are mutually synchronized, and finally, the septic tank cover is closed.

Dr. R V Krishnaiah is a great man among many renowned Indian scientists who have contributed by developing an automated system, specifically for the Indian railways, to collect toilet waste.

Rajagopalan Vasudevan – Indian Scientists

Popularly known as the ‘Plastic Man of India,‘ Rajagopalan Vasudevan is an Indian scientist that has worked mainly in waste management. He is as old as the mass production of plastic. Honored with India’s highest civilian award, Rajagopalan patented a method to reuse plastic waste to construct roads.

As per his ingenious thinking, it is an eco-friendly step toward the environment. Rajagopalan presented an efficient and economical way to reuse plastic. Using his invention, the waste plastics can be used as an excellent binder to develop good roads and better transport.

Among many esteemed scientists, Rajagopalan Vasudevan has conceived a revolutionary technology. The plastic roads decrease one ton of bitumen for every km of road, saving up to Rs. 60,000 per km.

He developed the technology that could construct durable, better, and cost-effective roads for the Government of India for free, and 5,000 km of roads have been built across 11 states.

Dr. Rajesh Ramanathan – Indian scientists

Now, a spot of sunshine it will take to clean your clothes within minutes. Scientists, including an Indian-origin, have developed an efficient, economical way that growing nanostructures on textiles that can degrade organic matter when exposed to light.

Among many scientists, Dr. Rajesh Ramanathan from RMIT Unversity in Australia has paved a nanostructure textile that can clean clothes on its own, free from stains, grime, and patches, by simply putting them under a sunlight bulb or in the sun.

One of the advantages of textiles is that they consist of 3D structures as they are great at absorbing light. When the nanostructure is exposed to light, it receives an entry boost that creates hot electrons. These hot electrons create a burst of energy that degrades the organic matter.

Many scientists, including Dr. Rajesh Ramanathan from RMIT university, claim that if exposed to lights for six minutes, some of the nanostructure particles can spontaneously clean themselves.

Soon, washing machines will be discarded with this new tactic. Along with other noble scientists, Dr. Rajesh Ramanathan has made the impossible possible.

Sounthirajan Kumaraswam – Indian scientists

Sounthirajan Kumaraswamy, a mechanical engineer and one of the underrated names among many Indian scientists, invented the Super Sonic Hydrogen IC Engine. It is the first-water-based engine that uses hydrogen as fuel and releases oxygen.

Many scientists across the world are looking for eco-friendly solutions, a Coimbatore-based engineer has invented an eco-friendly engine that runs on distilled water. It took a decade for him to invent something that would be called the first of its kind.

Kumaraswamy has worked hard on this invention that will sustain its mobility and give a new reference. The engine will release in Japan and will be one of a kind.

It is the first water-based engine that uses distilled water and releases oxygen.

Arunachalam Muruganantham – Indian scientists

The Padman of India – Arunachalam Muruganantham is an Indian social entrepreneur and innovator. He can be termed among the many Indian scientists who have crafted a change in society.

He designed a small sanitary-pad-making machine and with it scripted a major change in the lives of women across India and the world. He created a low-cost sanitary pad and succeeded in his small mission that became national and International, too.

Muruganantham started his quest in 1998 and managed to create a pad-making machine. The pad-making apparatus consists of miniature machines that de-fibrate the wood fiber into cotton, shape it in a mold, and sterilize the pads under ultraviolet light. They are then packaged for sale. In a single day, a single unit can produce 1,500 pads.

Arunachalam Muruganantham cannot be successfully termed under the names of many scientists but discovered a mechanism that could ease women across the world, and that’s a big achievement.
