The prolific batsman played a crucial role in the 83 world cup.  He was awarded the Man of the match in two important games. Saqib Saleem will have a strong character to play in the film.

Chirag Patil, the Marathi actor will essay the role of his father Sandeep Patil in 83 the movie. ‘Like father like son’ well this saying makes sense now.

5. Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar

The ‘little master’ of Indian cricket had a forgettable tour in the 83 world cup.  Well, this doesn’t mean that he didn’t contribute to the team-winning cause. Sunil Gavaskar was the real asset in the Fielding department. The dressing room pep talks were also filled with Gavaskar’s inspiring speeches. 6. Jiiva as K Srikkanth

If you have seen the trailer of 83 the movie, you must have noticed a striker of the bowl and a witty personality. Yes, you are right. We are talking about the very aggressive opener who laid the winning tone in the 83 world cup.  He was the top scorer for India in the finals of the 83 world cup. Jiiva is slated to play the role of K Srikkanth who is much more than just a flamboyant cricketer.

7. Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal

A consistent bowler wins you thrilling matches and that was the job of Madan Lal. He had the figures of 17 wickets in just 8 matches. This made him the second-highest impact player in the 83 world cup. Harrdy Sandhu is a popular face in North India. He was already flattered by all of us with his singing. Let’s see if he ‘yorks’ us with his acting debut.

8. Jatin Sharma as Yashpal Singh

Yashpal Singh was always a match-winner and he proved his worth in the 83 world cup. With consistency and huge performance when it mattered the most. Throughout the tournament, his playing instincts were judged and he adapted accordingly. Yashpal  Sharma will be played by Jatin. We all know him as ‘Bunty’ from Sacred games but it’s time for him to place another character in our hearts.

9. Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani.

‘Diving to the right and Kirmani takes a blinder.’ Syed Kirmani was awarded the best wicketkeeper in the 83 world cup. His famous catch of Fauod Bacchus in the final match will be the talking point in the film. Sahil Khattar plays the role of the ace wicketkeeper. Sahil was previously a Vj and a host has agreed to do something that can prove to be his point.

10. Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu 

Sandhu played a vital role in the 83 world cup. He picked the breakthrough wicket in the match that turned the history of world cricket. From adding helpful 22 runs in the finals to bowling a ‘gaffer’ in the finals.  Another popular Punjabi actor has been given the task to prosper in the role of a hero still relevant in the minds of people. The casting of Ammy Virk makes it an interesting watch altogether.

The rampages that Binny offered are a thing to witness.

12. Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri

The Voice behind two world cup winning moments has had his moments as well. Ravi Shastri opened with K Srikkanth in two matches. His 3 for 26 in India’s win against West Indies was significant. Dhairya karwa will be in the of Ravi Shastri and he can be recognized doing the swivel hand gesture from the trailer itself.

13. Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad

Kirti Azad wasn’t provided with ample opportunities but whatever role he was asked to offer he did with grit. He was the most economical bowler for the Indian cricket team in the 83 world cup. Bowling 17 overs in the tournament and conceding just 42. He also picked a wicket. Dinker Sharma will be gracing the role of Kirti Azad. He was seen in the critically acclaimed show Delhi Crime.

14. Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar

His 83 world cup tour was a forgettable one as well but his presence as a team player was never in doubt. Adinath Kothare has been handed the responsibility of playing the character that went to lead the Indian cricket team.
