First Pride flag hoisted in Himachal’s Palampur

A positive news of 2021 came from the state of Himachal Pradesh. With rainbow flags and love, the LGBTQIA+ community celebrated its first pride parade in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.

Gurdwara in UP started first ‘oxygen langar’

The Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram(Uttar Pradesh) joined hands with an NGO, Khalsa Help International and opened first ‘oxygen langar’ that provided oxygen supply to Covid-19 patients whose saturation levels dropped dangerously. The seva provided relief to covid patients till they could find a bed in hospital, this is surely the most inspiring and positive news of 2021 during the second wave that made everyone proud.

In a first, a Mathematics professor at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Gupta won the DST-ICTP-IMU Ramanujan Prize for her inspiring work on affine algebraic geometry, commutative algebra, and particularly for solving Zariski Cancellation Problem for affine spaces. The Balussery Govt Girls Higher Secondary School in Kerala provided positive news by introducing gender-neutral uniforms and became the first govt school to allow girls to switch from churidar- kurta and skirts to shirts and trousers.
