Recently, a 20-year-old young boy Farhan Majeed from Kashmir has finished his training to become a commercial pilot. He is the youngest man in the state to become a commercial pilot. The dedication of youth towards creating a bright future is like a ray of hope for Kashmir itself. It showcases that the vigor and dedication of the youth are in the right direction.
The Motivation to Become a Pilot
Farhan belongs to the Awantipora region of the Pulwama district. The region lies in the southern part of Kashmir, which is frequently a militancy-affected part of the state. Farhan’s father is a mathematics professor by profession, and his mother is in the same profession. His mother, Fahmeeda Banoo, is also a teacher. He always wanted to become a pilot. Many people don’t want their children to go into this profession, but Farhan’s parents never stopped him.
During his childhood days, he used to listen to the sound of helicopters and other planes all day and night at the airbase of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Malangpora. This motivated him to become a pilot one day. He mentioned he feels very proud of becoming the youngest commercial pilot in Kashmir. He is very thankful to his parents and God.
Parental Support
Farhan often used to talk about his passion for becoming a pilot. He wanted to be a pilot but was unaware of the requirements to become a pilot. He spent many hours researching on the internet daily.
He mentioned, ” My parents were very supportive and helped me out through the entire process. Farhan’s father mentioned that they never stopped believing in their son. By becoming the youngest commercial pilot Farhan has made both of them proud.
Joining The Aviation Academy
After completing his class 12th from Mantaqui Higher Secondary School, Farhan moved to Uttarakhand. He joined the flying academy Global Konnect Aviation Services Private Ltd in Uttarakhand. Farhan’s parents constantly provided him with financial and emotional support. His parents are very proud of his achievement. Many people avoid sending their children to this profession, but Farhan’s parents always motivated him.
Determination and Hard Work to Achieve Goals
Farhan’s placement has not taken place this year because of the pandemic. He needs to apply for work positions. He gives credit for his success to his parents. That he is the youngest commercial pilot in the valley makes him happy. He believes everyone can reach their goals if they work hard and stay determined.
